When experiencing the Rubber Tire Peep Show, one may be struck by the inspired authenticity, fused with an improvisational electricity that gives a slight nod to music of the past.. once you get it, you can’t forget it.
Rubber Tire Peep Show (RTPS) is a Canadian musical collective whose eclectic repertoire spans genres from country-blues, funk, soul, to some good old rock ’n’ roll. Through an ever-growing roster of collaborating musicians both on stage, and in studio, “the Peep Show” infuses each performance with jam-band dynamics and fresh interpretations of both original compositions and beloved classics.
In the past year, Rubber Tire Peep Show's first three singles off their upcoming debut record have gained widespread attention, including earned features on Exclaim Magazine’s curated Spotify playlist, "the Eh List." Following a series of sold-out shows in Toronto, the band was hired as the house band for the CFL’s Winnipeg Blue Bombers' "Grey Cup Festival" at the Hamilton Convention Centre, marking a significant milestone in their journey. Encouraged by their growing success, the band embarked on a successful winter tour through interior B.C., selling out multiple performances throughout the lively ski-town communities. After the overwhelmingly positive response of this venture on the road, the band is gearing up for a multi-province Canadian tour this summer in support of their debut record.
At its heart, Rubber Tire Peep Show is fueled by the passion and dedication of founders Liam Slingerland and Harrison Smith alongside their exceptional team of collaborators. With an unwavering passion for musical collaboration, and all the good-times that come along with it, they work to ensure that “you’ll never see the same show twice!”.
PAITRA (Toronto)
Inspired by the diverse genres that have shaped her musical journey, Paitra seamlessly weaves together elements of rock, folk, and alternative, infusing them with a subtle pop twist. In 2017, her passion for music carried her away from her cosy small town of Timmins, Ontario to the bustling streets of Toronto. Since then, she has become an integral part of the city's dynamic music scene, gracing historic venues with her electrifying live performances and collaborating with a myriad of gifted artists.
In 2023, she debuted with the energy-forward rock tune Lovely Little Liar, which was then followed by the delicate yet powerful love ballad Three Simple Words. Her 60s-surf-rock-inspired summer release Outside In brought wholesomeness to her discography.
Paitra's music tells the story of her personal experiences, and her latest single Easier to Love Than Hate embodies the emotion she endured during a difficult time in her life. Vulnerability is something she tries to practice as openly as possible, even though that can be a difficult thing sometimes.
As she continues to put out more music, Paitra goes wherever the wind takes her.
